abstract | An essential objective of the invention relates to the use of suitable catalytic systems comprising a promoter assembly in which additives based on alkali metal and optionally phosphorus are present, with a view to conducting direct alkylhalosilane synthesis while controlling downward the formation of the Undesirable coke. More specifically, it is the use of a catalytic system suitable for carrying out the process for the preparation of alkyl halosilanes by reacting an alkyl halide with a contact mass formed of silicon and a catalytic system comprising (α) metallic copper or a copper-based compound and (β) a promoter unit. According to the invention, the promoter unit comprises: - 10 to 500 ppm (calculated by weight of metal relative to the mass of silicon engaged) of an additive β1 chosen from tin, a compound based on tin and a mixture of these species, optionally 0.01 to 3% (calculated by weight of metal relative to the mass of silicon involved) of an additive β2 chosen from metallic zinc, a zinc-based compound and a mixture of these species, - 0.01 to 2% (calculated by weight of metal relative to the mass of silicon engaged) of an additive β3 chosen from cesium, potassium and rubidium, a compound based on said alkali metal and a mixture of these species, and optionally 50 to 3000 ppm (calculated by weight of elemental phosphorus relative to the mass of silicon engaged) of an additive β4 chosen from the phosphorus element, a phosphorus-based compound and a mixture of these species. |
