abstract A control device such as a master arm intended for remote handling, games, etc. comprises two parallel branches (31; 32) united to a wrist (43) which, according to the invention, comprises two portions whose movement is controlled by handles (53) without pivoting movement between the rod portions (52) which mainly contribute to the union of the branches. This provides a degree of freedom which is not decoupled and can be held in place, when the arm is released, by force feedback means (35, 40, 41) disposed elsewhere on the arm. The wrist linkage mechanism may be in the form of a particular scissor or slide.
