abstract To replace methyl bromide in all its uses in agricultural soil treatment (in particular arboriculture, horticulture and market gardening), the invention proposes to use at least one sulfur compound of general formula: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) in which R represents an alkyl or alkenyl radical, n is 0, 1 or 2, x is a number from 0 to 4, and R 'represents an alkyl or alkenyl radical or, only if n = x = O, an atom of hydrogen. These sulfur-containing compounds (in particular dimethyldisulphide) can be applied according to the conventional methods of soil treatment (injection, spraying, drip, spraying) and have no phytotoxic effects.
