Method for manufacturing a longitudinal reinforcing element based on multifilamentary carbon fiber, intended to be incorporated into a rubber-based article, including the following stages, consisting, from twisted carbon fibers:. immersing the fibers in an impregnation bath containing a solution of resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and rubber latex; . drying the impregnated fibers; twisting the dried fibers, characterized in that it also comprises a step consisting in ensuring, at the latest during the impregnation step, an opening of the carbon fibers by spreading the filaments constituting them, so that each fiber has an increased surface on which impregnation can be carried out. |
