titleOfInvention PLASMA PANEL USING HOLLOW GRAIN POWDERS IN ITS STRUCTURE
abstract The operation of display devices of the plasma panel type requires that the gas present in the volume of the panel is perfectly pure and the remainder throughout the life of the panel. It is thus proposed to use, to produce part of the structure of the panel, a powder containing hollow grains, grains consisting of an open envelope 1 delimiting a volume 2. This material placed in contact with the gas in the interior volume of the panel has a strong getter effect in particular for carbon monoxide and dioxide as well as for water vapor. The vacuum pumping and steaming conditions of the panel can then be considerably shortened while ensuring excellent vacuum quality even in the event of slight degassing of a material of the panel structure. This generates a substantial saving in time and cost on the industrial process and improves the uniformity performance of the panel.
