titleOfInvention | SOIL OF A CERIUM AND / OR LANTHAN PHOSPHATE, PROCESS FOR PREPARATION AND USE IN POLISHING |
abstract | The invention relates to a sol of a cerium and / or lanthanum phosphate, a process for preparing such a sol and the use of this sol in polishing. The sol of the invention comprises an aqueous phase; particles of a phosphate of at least one rare earth chosen from cerium and lanthanum; an acid other than phosphoric acid, the cerium and lanthanum salts of which are soluble in water. The process for preparing this sol consists in continuously introducing a first solution of salts of at least one aforementioned rare earth , in a second solution of phosphate ions and having an initial pH of less than 2; in controlling during precipitation the pH of the precipitation medium to a constant value less than 2; in separating the precipitate from the reaction medium and in re-dispersing it in water then in adding to the dispersion thus obtained at least one salt of the aforementioned rare earth and of the aforementioned acid in an amount such as the final molar ratio PO4 3 / rare earth in the dispersion is equal to 1. |
