titleOfInvention MORPHINE SULFATE MICROGRANULES, METHOD OF PREPARATION AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING THEM
abstract The present invention relates to a new oral sustained-release formulation of morphine sulfate in the form of microgranules. Each microgranule comprises a neutral support grain coated with an active layer and with a sustained-release layer, characterized in that the release layer extended contains a copolymer of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate ester in which the relative proportion of free carboxyl groups and ester groups is approximately 0.5, and a silica having a hydrophobic character. The present invention also relates to a process for preparation of these microgranules entirely carried out in an aqueous medium by mounting the neutral support grains.
