abstract The invention relates to compositions containing vinyl synthetic polymers or copolymers with a dry particle size of between about 0.2 and 0.6 microns, preferably 0.2 and 0.4 or 0.3 microns, in the form of 1. 'inverse emulsion obtained by inverse emulsion polymerization, or dispersion in an aqueous medium, generally water. The quality of the thickener is improved (in particular, in printing paste application, the fusing while maintaining a good coloristic yield ). Applications as thickening agents, and more particularly as thickening agents for printing pastes, in particular for textiles, in particular for pigment printing processes, but also for printing processes by the technique known as "fix- washed "in particular, in cosmetics and other applications of thickeners.
