titleOfInvention ARC EXTINGUISHING CHAMBER WHOSE SIDE WALLS ARE IN COMPOSITE MATERIAL, AND CUTTING APPARATUS INCLUDING SUCH A CHAMBER
abstract An electric arc extinguishing chamber 26 intended to be placed facing separable contact members of a switching device and to extinguish the arc generated by the separation of said contacts, comprises two side walls 52 facing the one from the other and a plurality of spaced apart plates 50 disposed between and held by the side walls. The side walls 52 have a composite structure laminated to at least two layers. The diapers consist of a polyamide fabric impregnated with thermosetting resin. The chamber thus obtained has advantageous properties of resistance to cutting. The ridges 70 of the side walls 52 do not exhibit a point of dielectric weakness. The chamber 26 is particularly suitable for high-caliber low-voltage power equipment.
