titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POLY (ETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE) -POLY (ETHYLENE ISOPHTALATE) COPOLYESTERS |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the production of poly (ethylene terephthalate) -poly (ethylene isophthalate) copolyester, containing at least 8% of isophthalic units. It comprises the following stages: a) esterification or transesterification with ethylene glycol of a mixture comprising terephthalic acid or methyl terephthalate and at least 8% by weight of isophthalic acid or methyl isophthalate, b ) polymerization in the melt phase of the esterification product, c) solidification and granulation, d) crystallization by bringing the granules into contact with a non-solvent liquid medium of the polymer or by successive treatment in two crystallizers, a first crystallizer comprising a heating means granules and a means making it possible to impose on the granules a uniform residence time inside, a second crystallizer comprising means for producing a bed of granules fluidized by a stream of hot gas, e) post-condensation in phase solid crystallized granules. The crystallization step according to one of the embodiments makes it possible to avoid the phenomena of sticking of the granules during the post-condensation step in the solid phase. |
