The accelerator has a polymeric structure and is water-soluble. and comprises cationic charges. The invention also relates to a method of applying to a support an aqueous paint according to the invention, according to which the paint is sprayed onto the support, reflective beads are distributed in the paint and incorporates into the paint, preferably after the distribution of the beads, the drying time accelerator.
