titleOfInvention | STREPTOCOCCUS AGALACTIAE SPECIFIC DNA FRAGMENT AND RELATED NUCLEIC ACID MOLECULES |
abstract | Here is described a newly identified DNA sequence from Streptococcus agalactiae ("GBS"), called GBS3. 1. Methods, oligonucleotide probes, amplification primers, and kits for species-specific detection of S. agalactiae are also described. Preferably, S. agalactiae is detected by amplification of the nucleic acids of S. agalactiae using the amplification primers described, and then detection of the amplified nucleic acids. In a more preferred embodiment, the nucleic acids of S. agalactiae are amplified and detected by amplification by displacement of thermophilic strand (ADBt). |
