abstract The present invention relates to a new oral formulation for immediate release of morphine sulfate in the form of microgranules. Each microgranule comprises a neutral support grain coated with a mixture of morphine sulfate and a binder such as hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of these microgranules entirely carried out in an aqueous medium on neutral support grains. The present invention finally relates to pharmaceutical preparations containing the microgranules according to the invention.
