The invention relates to an agent for removing heavy metals contained in an aqueous effluent comprising: at least one compound chosen from a compound of the silicate or aluminosilicate type, for example a sodium silicate, and a carbonate-type compound, for example a sodium carbonate, a phosphate compound, for example a sodium orthophosphate, and, optionally, a support, in particular a clay. This agent may further comprise a sulfur compound. This agent may constitute an agent for stabilizing said metals. It can be used to eliminate or stabilize heavy metals, especially cadmium, nickel and lead, contained in industrial aqueous effluents. |
