The present invention relates to a spongy material, to its method of preparation as well as to its applications, in particular for the manufacture of sponges and household articles comprising a spongy element such as brooms and squeegees for cleaning surfaces. The spongy material according to the invention comprises at least cellulose fibers and an elastomer and is characterized in that it has, on the one hand, a cellular structure formed by cells the size of which is between 0.1 and 10 mm. , and, on the other hand, a water absorption capacity at least equal to 750% by weight of its dry weight. |
