titleOfInvention DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE RADIOACTIVITY OF AEROSOLS IN THE AIR, COMPENSATED BY THE NATURAL CONTRIBUTION AND AMBIENT GAMMA IRRADIATION
abstract A device for measuring the radioactivity of aerosols comprises a sensor (16) with receiving diodes D1, D2, placed opposite a filtration strip (14) intended to collect a sample (28) of the aerosols, with the interposition of a interval (26) having a distance of 3 mm. The sensor (16) comprises a first screen (30) intended to inhibit the detection of beta radiation by the second diode D2, and a second screen (40) in the form of a separation grid contiguous to the first diode D1, and having a hole (42) calibrated for the separation of alpha radiation. Such a sensor makes it possible to obtain a separation of the solid alpha descendants, and a compensation of the gamma radiation. A calculation algorithm makes it possible to determine the compensated Beta radiation due to contaminants alone from the global Beta and Gamma radiations, and the alpha radiations separated in energy.
