abstract The invention relates to a water treatment method, including swimming pool, and a new disinfectant composition. The disinfection process is of the type in which water is mixed with hydrogen peroxide acting as a bactericide; it is characterized in that cyanuric acid or a salt of this acid is also added to the water so that its concentration is greater than about 15 ppm. The following additives may advantageously be added: soluble salt of silver, soluble salt of copper, phosphoric acid. The process of the invention considerably increases the persistence of the bactericidal effect of hydrogen peroxide.
