PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING POROUS PAPER AND HIGHLY AIR-IMPRESSABLE, POROUS AND HIGHLY AIR-IMPERMEABLE PAPER MADE THEREBY AND NON-AQUEOUS ELECTRICAL BATTERY USING THE SAME |
abstract |
This process makes it possible to manufacture a porous paper, highly impermeable to air, which will be used as a separator in a non-aqueous electric cell. It comprises the steps of making a wet paper web from a very fine cellulose having a fiber diameter of 1 µm or less, refined to a CSF number of 200 ml or less, and drying the paper. wet paper web while maintaining voids in the wet paper web by replacing the water remaining in the wet paper web with a solvent and evaporating the organic solvent remaining in the paper web wet, or by freeze drying to form a porous paper, highly impermeable to air and having tiny pores. |
