abstract The invention relates to an automatic device for the ultimate pretransfusion test of blood compatibility at the bed of a patient between a donor blood to be transfused and the recipient blood of the patient, of the type comprising means (14, 15) for receiving samples of donor blood. and recipient, means for blood analysis of the samples making it possible to determine, from the results of this analysis, whether the bloods are compatible or not, means for measuring the period of time which elapses during the feeding of the two blood samples in the receiving means (14, 15), and control logic for canceling the test automatically if said period of time exceeds a predetermined value. The invention also relates to the method for controlling an automatic device according to the invention.
