titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE WET-CLEANING OF GASEOUS EFFLUENTS CONTAINING NITROGEN OXIDES AND POSSIBLY IODINE |
abstract | The invention relates to a method for the wet purification of gaseous effluents containing nitrogen oxides or nitrous vapors by washing these gaseous effluents using an aqueous solution containing a chosen ammonium derivative. from optionally O-substituted or N-substituted hydroxylammonium nitrates which makes it possible to destroy nitrites. The treated gases can, in addition to the nitrous vapors, also contain iodine, in particular Iodine 129 and consist in particular of the so-called "dissolution" gases formed during the dissolving of the irradiated fuel in the plants of. reprocessing. The process then consists in a first step in removing the treated gases, the nitrous vapors and in trapping the iodine, then in a second step in desorbing the iodine from the solution obtained, by means of hydrogen peroxide. The final solution obtained can be treated in a vitrification plant. |
