abstract The invention relates to an actinide burner fuel element. The aim of the invention is to produce a fuel element capable of containing the actinide alone, under conditions guaranteeing the maintenance of its integrity throughout its incineration and making it possible to recover the products resulting from this incineration. This object is achieved by means of an element comprising a tubular outer sheath (30) and a tubular inner liner (38) coaxial with the sheath, so as to define an annular cavity (44) for receiving the actinide particles. (46) to be incinerated and a central internal space (42), this internal jacket (38) being made of a material permeable to incineration gases and impermeable to actinides and in that this internal jacket extends over part of the length of the sheath (30) so as to define at least one expansion chamber (40) the central internal space (42) opening into said expansion chamber (40).
