ETHYLENIC HYDROCARBONS SULFURED BY ELEMENTARY SULFUR IN THE PRESENCE OF GUANIDINE CARBONATE, THEIR PREPARATION AND USES THEREOF |
abstract |
Sulfur-containing products are described which are derived from mono or polyethylenic hydrocarbons by sulfurization using elemental sulfur in the presence of guanidine carbonate and in the presence of water. Sulfur-containing products, which can contain from 20 to 70% by mass of sulfur, are generally soluble in lubricants, whose anti-wear and extreme pressure properties they improve. They can also be used as sulphurizing agents, in particular in the preparation of catalysts for refining petroleum products. |
