titleOfInvention FUEL OBTAINED BY A PROCESS INCLUDING THE OPTIMIZED ETHERIFICATION OF A CUP OF HYDROCARBONS CONTAINING OLEFINS HAVING 5 TO 8 CARBON ATOMS
abstract The invention relates to a fuel for an internal combustion engine obtained from a mixture of hydrocarbons containing etherifiable and potentially etherifiable olefinic hydrocarbons having 5 to 8 carbon atoms per molecule, characterized in that it is obtained by a process comprising a) at least one step of catalytic etherification of at least part of the etherifiable olefins contained in said mixture of hydrocarbons, using at least one alcohol having 1 to 4 carbon atoms per molecule, the quantity of alcohol employed being such that the molar ratio of alcohol: etherifiable olefins is at least 1: 1, b) at least one stage of separation of the ethers formed in stage a), and which provides almost pure ethers and usable as oxygenated constituents in a fuel c) at least one step of transforming potentially etherifiable olefins into truly etherifiable olefins which step is carried out in the absence of said alcohol, d) at least a stage for finishing the catalytic reaction (a) of etheification, which provides a mixture rich in ethers and which can be directly incorporated into a fuel.
