| abstract |
The absorbent structure according to the invention contains from about 20 to about 65% by weight of a hydrogel-forming polymeric material, from about 25 to about 70% by weight of a wettable staple fiber and from more than about 7 to about 40% by weight of a wettable binder fiber. The absorbent structure has better permeability to liquids, in the z direction, than an absorbent structure not comprising a wettable binder fiber, but which is otherwise essentially identical. The invention also relates to a disposable absorbent product comprising such an absorbent elastomeric structure, disposed between a liquid-permeable upper sheet and a support sheet. |
