abstract The subject of the invention is thiazine or thiazepine derivatives of the following general formula (I) or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) in which R ** 1 is a hydrogen atom, a substituted alkyl group or not, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group; R ** 2, R ** 3, R ** 4 and R ** 5, which may be the same or different, are each a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or R ** 1 taken together with R ** 2 or R ** 3 can represent - (CH2) n - where n is an integer from 1 to 6; A is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or an NH group; m is 0 or 1; and p is equal to 0 or 1. These compounds have an inhibitory activity of NO-synthetase and can be used in the treatment of conditions related to an excessive production of nitric oxide in vivo.
