The invention relates to a process for the preparation of silicone foams having a low density and a small cell size, in which a mixture of at least one polyorganosiloxane having vinyl groups attached to silicon, at least one hydrogen- polysiloxane, a mixture of at least one mono-hydroxylated aliphatic compound and at least one dihydroxylated aliphatic compound, each of them containing at least 5 carbon atoms, in an equivalents ratio in the range of from about 1.5: 1 to about 4.0: 1, water, a platinum group catalyst, and a feed. Said mixture comprises at least about 5% of the combination of silica and compounds containing silicon, having a high proportion of Q units. |
