titleOfInvention Method for protecting lignocellulosic products against yellowing.
abstract A method for protecting lignocellulosic materials from yellowing caused by light or heat is provided. The invention also relates to light stabilizing compositions for the treatment of lignocellulosic materials. According to the invention, polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF) is used as a light stabilizing agent. Preferably, PTHFs having a molar mass of about 150 to 1500 are used. The invention provides good stabilization of lignocellulosic pastes and products containing these pastes, in which the amount of PTHF required may be extremely low, for example 0, 05 - 5% of the weight of the material.
