abstract The invention relates to a method of producing microcapsules containing a hydrophobic liquid. According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: - formation of an emulsion of an organic hydrophobic phase, in an aqueous phase in which gelatin is dissolved, a first anionic colloid consisting of polyacrylic acid, carboxymethylcellulose as a second colloid so as to form particles with a diameter of approximately 1 to 12 mum, - coacervation of the emulsion in an acidic medium and cooling, - crosslinking of the gelatin and neutralization. The invention also relates to the microcapsules obtained and to a process for obtaining a pressure-sensitive paper using these microcapsules.
