abstract The invention relates to a zeolite A with high cation exchange capacity, with controlled particle size distribution and controlled whiteness, characterized in that it contains at least one coloring additive, soluble or capable of dispersing in an acidic, neutral or basic medium, susceptible to modify its coloring over the entire range of wavelengths of the visible spectrum with a view to improving its whiteness properties in a lasting manner during its subsequent applications. The coloring additive is an organic or inorganic pigment added in a proportion by weight of at least 5 ppm and preferably from 10 to 50 ppm in zeolite A during its preparation. The predetermined amount of coloring additive chosen in particular from the group of phthalocyanines or aromatic azo derivatives is preferably introduced during the crystallization phase of zeolite A or of the filtration / washing phase of this zeolite insofar as the coloring additive is not sufficiently stable in a concentrated sodium medium. The zeolite A thus obtained is particularly suitable for entering into the composition of detergents.
