abstract The present invention relates to a process for the synthesis of 1-alkyl-3-hydroxy-5-halogeno-1,2,4-triazoles, which are pesticides synthesis intermediates, by reaction of a 1-alkyl-3 , 5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazole with an ionic type halogenating agent. The reaction takes place in the presence of a nitrogenous catalyst chosen from the group consisting of tertiary amines and their hydrohalides, heterocyclic amines and their hydrohalides and of N, N-disubstituted amides. This new process makes it possible in particular, from alkylhydrazines, to obtain 1-alkyl-3-hydroxy-5-halogeno-1,2,4-triazoles without the use of cyanogen halides, very toxic compounds. A subject of the invention is also new hydrazine derivatives: 1-isopropyl-1-carboxamide hydrazine and alkyl 2-isopropyl-2-carboxamide carbazates.
