titleOfInvention Process for the incineration of solid fuels, in particular urban residues, with solid and gaseous discharges which are substantially neutral vis-à-vis the environment.
abstract The urban waste (21) is dried and burned in a furnace (2) with a mechanical grid (22), in reducing mode, to reduce the formation of NOx. The bottom ash ends up being consumed in a well (32), at the base of which is arranged a means such as a plasma torch (35), for vitrifying the bottom ash. The combustion gases are burnt in the presence of secondary air in a hearth (5) with a circulating fluidized bed. The fumes are freed of the major part of the fly ash in a filter (61) before passing through a boiler (7) where they are cooled. Beyond, the fumes pass into a purification zone (8) in itself classic, before being evacuated by a chimney (10). Very low harmful emissions are thus obtained both in the fumes and in the bottom ash. The fly ash, collected downstream of the fluidized bed (5) is recycled with the bottom ash to be vitrified. The heavy metals volatilized in the homes are recovered by the purge (83).
