abstract |
An engine (1) drives a vehicle via a clutch (2), a main gearbox (3) and a synchronized transfer box (6). The change from road speed to off-road speed is initiated by operation of a preselection switch (31) and the clutch (2). A control device is provided which calculates an advancement of the change point from the drop in rotational speed of the input shaft (4) of the main gearbox (3) and a predicted change time. By this, the gear change is triggered before the output speed from which the engine would rev up is reached. This makes it possible to downshift to off-road speed both very early and without problems. |
