abstract A method of removing clothing and other articles produced from a woven, nonwoven, knitted or otherwise formed fabric by contacting with water at a temperature sufficient to completely dissolving the fabric, water and dissolved fabric then being discarded. The fabric consists of fibers of a thermoplastic vinyl alcohol polymer, soluble in water only at temperatures above approximately 50 ° C.
