AMINE-DIOL, ITS OBTAINMENT AND ITS APPLICATION IN ADDITIVES FOR CATIONIC ELECTRODEPOSABLE PAINTS. |
abstract |
Amine-diol type compound consisting of the reaction product of a primary amine of formula R-NH2 in which R denotes an aliphatic or aromatic radical with at least one alkylene oxide comprising predominantly propylene oxide. The chain of this compound is lengthened by placing it in the presence of complementary molecules of alkylene oxide in order to obtain a molecular weight of between 800 and 1500 and preferably between 1000 and 1200. It can be used as an additive in a composition of electrodeposition paint to provide, after application to a metal substrate, a coating or film having improved pitting and cracking resistance. |
