The present invention relates to polymethine spectral sensitizing dyes comprising at least one intracyclic thioether-functional macrocycle. These particular sensitizing dyes can be used in silver halide photographic elements. These spectral sensitizing dyes improve the sensitivity of photographic materials while reducing residual tint. |
