titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR SEPARATING AT LEAST PARTIALLY A MIXTURE OF 1,1,1,3,3-PENTAFLUOROBUTANE AND 1,1-DICHLORO-1-FLUORETHANE.
abstract The invention relates to a process for at least partially separating 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane ("I-365") from 1,1-dichloro-1-fluorethane ("I-141b") in a mixture. containing them. The partial or total separation of "I-365" and "I-141b" in a mixture which contains them is carried out by liquid-liquid extraction with mixtures of solvents based on methanol, for example with methanol supplemented with ethanolamine or ethylene glycol. The process of the invention makes it possible to obtain, with a purity greater than 99.5%, “I-141b” which is a substitute for trichlorofluoromethane as a propellant.
