The invention relates to a novel organic derivative of a transition metal with a porphyrin structure. This derivative corresponds to the following general formula: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and Ar1, Ar2, Ar3, Ar4 are in particular chosen independently from the following substituents: the usual substituents of chlorophylls or natural or modified porphyrins, in particular hydrogen; straight chain, branched or cyclic C1 -C5 lower alkyl; a lower alcohol in C1 -C5, straight chain, branched or cyclic, of primary, secondary or tertiary type; a C1 -C6 acid group, in particular acetyl or propionyl; a C2 -C6 alkylene radical, in particular a vinyl; and M is a transition metal advantageously other than iron, uncoordinated or coordinated to one or more C0 -C2 0 ligand groups. This derivative exhibits hypoglycaemic activity, which makes it advantageous for therapeutic application. |
