titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ADIPIC ACID BY HYDROCARBOXYLATION OF PENTENIC ACIDS |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for preparing adipic acid by hydrocarboxylation of pentenic acids. A more particular subject of the invention is a process for the preparation of adipic acid by reaction of water and carbon monoxide with at least one pentenic acid, in the presence of a rhodium-based catalyst and at least an iodinated promoter, at a temperature between 100 and 240 ° C, under a pressure above atmospheric pressure, characterized in that a) the reaction is carried out in the group consisting of aliphatic or cycloaliphatic, saturated hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and their chlorinated derivatives and in that b) the partial pressure of carbon monoxide measured at 25 ° C is less than or equal to 12 bar. |
