titleOfInvention MATERIAL FOR CONTACT LENSES.
abstract Bactericidal ceramics containing at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Ag, Cu and Zn are mixed by a kneading process to form a contact lens hydrogel body material usually used at the rate of 0.001 to 10.0%. by weight, or said bactericidal ceramics are applied to the surfaces of the hydrogel body material of the contact lens so as to obtain contact lenses. According to the invention, the contact lenses obtained exhibit bactericidal properties and are not harmful to the tissues of the cornea.
