abstract The invention relates to nucleic acid sequences derived from the genome of Salmonella Typhi, these sequences being characterized in that they contain all or part of the genetic information necessary for the in vitro infection activity of HeLa cells in culture by the bacteria of the genus Salmonella. The invention also relates to the polypeptides encoded by these nucleic sequences, as well as the use of these polypeptides and these nucleic sequences for the implementation of methods for the in vitro detection of Salmonella in biological samples likely to contain them.
