One method of purifying a fluorine-containing alkylethylene comprises reacting the fluorine-containing alkylethylene with powdered metallic zinc in the presence of an aqueous solution of acetic acid. By this process, the fluorine-containing alkyl iodide and the fluorine-containing alkyl iodide, contained as impurities in the fluorine-containing alkylethylene, can be effectively removed, for example, up to a level of 1 ppm or less. |
