A cutting tool according to the invention comprises a metal tool body in which is inserted at least one insert of hard anti-abrasion material such as a polycrystalline diamond insert. Cutting edges (5, 6) and side grooves (3, 4) are formed on the tool, in the area provided with hard anti-abrasion material, by an electro-erosion process, in a helical shape. The hard abrasion resistant material thus forms front edges (7, 8) and helical side cutting edges (5, 6). |
