Bi-aromatic thioesters. These thioesters correspond to the formula: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) in which: R1 represents H, OH, -CH3, -CH2 (OH), -CH (OH) CH3, -COOR9, -CON or SO2 R1 0, R9 represents H, C1 -C6 alkyl or mono or polyhydroxyalkyl, R1 0 representing OH, C1 -C6 alkyl, or -N r 'and r "representing H, C1 -C6 alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, mono or polyhydroxyalkyl, or r' and r "taken together form a heterocycle, R2 represents H, C1 -C6 alkyl, OR9, F or -CF3, R3, R4 and R5 represent H, F, OH, -CH3, -OCH3, -CF3, -COOH or CH2 OH , R6 and R8 represent an H, -CF3, alkyl C3 -C1 5 alpha-substituted, alkyl C4 -C1 2 alpha-alpha'-disubstituted cycloalkyl C3 -C1 2 cycloalkyl C5 -C1 2 mono or polycyclic whose linking carbon is trisubstituted, -SR1 1, -SO2 R1 1 or -SOR1 1, R1 1 representing C1 -C6 alkyl or cycloalkyl, R6 and R8 cannot simultaneously represent H, R7 represents H, C1 -C6 alkyl alkenyl, alkenyloxy, OR1 2 or SR1 3, R1 2 representing H, C1 -C6 alkyl, alkenyl, R 1 3 representing H, C1 -C6 alkyl or aralkyl, R6 and R7 or R7 and R8 taken together, which can also form a 5 or 6 membered ring substituted by CH3 groups; with the proviso that when simultaneously in formula I, R1 represents -CH2 OH, -CH (OH) CH3, -COOR9 or -CON R6 or R8 represents alkyl C4 -C1 2 alpha, alpha'-disubstituted or cycloalkyl C5 -C1 2 mono or polycyclic in which the linking carbon is trisubstituted, R3 or R4 represents H or -CH3 and, R7 represents the OR1 2 radical, then at least one of the R2 or R5 radicals is different from H.
