abstract A viewing window 10 capable of providing continuous clean viewing is provided. The clean visualization is the result of maintaining a unidirectional flow of a purification gas from the objective of the window 50 to the chamber 60 on which the window is mounted. An annular flow path 34 surrounding the viewing path ensures the distribution of the purification gas to an internal porous wall 36 of the annular path 34. The purification gas passes through the internal porous wall 36 and flows in a direction single up to room 32.
