titleOfInvention PROCESS AND COMPOSITION FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A DOUBLE LAYER CHROME-CONTAINED TINLESS STEEL
abstract Disclosed is the production of a double-layer tin-free steel comprising a lower layer of uniformly deposited metallic chromium and an upper layer of insoluble hydrated chromium oxide. The process is characterized by dissolving soluble hydrated chromium oxide after forming three layers comprising a lower layer of metallic chromium, an intermediate layer of insoluble hydrated chromium oxide and an upper layer of soluble hydrated chromium oxide on a layer. steel substrate using a chromic acid electrolyte with a small amount of a fluoride. By using this tin-free steel, a welded body of cans can be produced at high speed without removing the layer deposited in the welded part, because this tin-free steel has excellent weldability.
