abstract The present invention relates to essentially linear thermotropic copolymers comprising in their structure recurrence units of formula: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) in which: A = valential bond, -O-, -COO-, -OOC-; D = aromatic radical; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 = hydrocarbon radical; x is a number from 2 to 8; is a number from 0 to 50. According to the process, a polyimination reaction is carried out between a diamine compound of formula: H2 ND-NH2 IV and a siloxane precursor monomer of formula: (CF DRAWING IN BOPI) The copolymers obtained have Mn greater than 4000 g / mole and they can be used in the field of engineering plastics. The present invention also relates, as new products, to the siloxane monomers of formula VII.
