abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of novel silicone polymers using, on the one hand, a polybutene prepared by polymerization of one or more olefins having 4 carbon atoms, comprising a carbon-carbon double bond per molecule and having a molecular mass. number average ranging from about 200 to 10,000 and on the other hand at least one thiol containing silicon of general formula HS - R ** 1 - Si R ** 2 X3 - n in which R ** 1 is a radical divalent organic, R ** 2 a non-hydrolyzable monovalent organic radical, X a hydrolyzable monovalent radical and n a number equal to 0 or 1 or 2. This process consists in a first step in carrying out an addition reaction between the polybutene and the thiol containing silicon so as to obtain an intermediate product and in a second step to carry out a polycondensation of the hydrolyzed intermediate product with itself and / or a polycondensation of the intermediate product with an organic compound c comprising at least two functions with labile hydrogen. The new silicone polymers obtained are intended in particular to be used for the manufacture of sealants or mastics. |
