To fix a fragile object, such as a mirror 10 on board an artificial satellite, which must undergo significant temperature variations as well as shocks and vibrations, two grooves 18 in the form of a dovetail are machined on this object, in each of which is placed a pair of gibs 20, 22. The gibs are fixed to a support pad 14 by screws 24, a stack of spring washers being placed between the head of each screw and the pad. Preferably, sheets of a malleable metal such as gold are placed between the object 10 and each of the parts of the fixing device in contact with this object. |
