titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF ANTIMONY MERCAPTIDES |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of antimony mercaptides, in which antimony trioxide is reacted with an organic mercaptan of the formula R ** 1-SH or R ** 2-OCO- (CH2) n -SH (in which R ** 1 represents an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group, comprising from 1 to 18 carbon atoms and optionally comprising a sulfide bond or an ether bond or a hydroxyl substituent or a carboxyl substituent, R ** 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group, comprising from 1 to 18 carbon atoms and optionally comprising a sulfide bond or an ether bond or a hydroxyl substituent or a carboxyl substituent , and n is 1 to 3), in the presence of a lower aliphatic carboxylic acid. This process makes it possible to obtain, with high yields, antimony mercaptides Sb (-SR ** 1) 3 or Sb (-S- (CH2) n -COOR ** 2) 3 exhibiting high purity. These products exhibit excellent stability over time and excellent action as passivating agents for hydrocarbon catalytic cracking catalysts. |
