titleOfInvention | PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF AMORPHOUS POLYAMIDES BASED ON AROMATIC DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS AND ALIPHATIC DIAMINES |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for preparing amorphous (co) polyamides from aromatic dicarboxylic acid (s) such as in particular isophthalic acid and / or terephthalic acid and from aliphatic diamine (s) (s) such as in particular hexamethylenediamine. In accordance with this process, in a first step, two unbalanced low viscosity prepolymers are prepared from the abovementioned reagents, one with excess COOH end groups, the other with excess NH 2 end groups; then in a second step, the two unbalanced prepolymers are mixed in given proportions and their post-condensation is carried out in the molten state in an extruder-degasser comprising one or more screws. The amorphous (co) polyamides thus prepared are perfectly transparent and they can be easily molded by injection to lead to shaped articles endowed with good properties, in particular in multiaxial impact. |
